Title

Beautiful, Golden Jellyfish Invading Fisher's Nets Is a New Species

Summary

A new jellyfish species (Pelagia benovici) was discovered off the coast of Venice, Italy. First, fishers have seen them on their nets last fall. Researchers aren't sure where P. benovici comes from, but the thought is that it could be native to the Indian Ocean.

Piraino and his colleagues published their description of the new jellyfish in the journal Zootaxa in May’14.
